5-HTP is an ingredient known under various other names such as 5-hydroxytryptophan. Now if you have broken down the name, you already have an idea of what it is. But they have also talked about 5-HTP actually increasing natural abilities to suppress appetite by doing that.

  • 5-HTP is a completely safe mood stabilizer that can work to give you a lift in mood during the day.

5-HTP does not actually promote weight loss. When it comes down to it, there have been some prescription anti depressants that they have been testing to see if they promote greater weight loss results and appetite suppression. But so far, none have been released in that capacity.

This being said, for something like clinical depression, 5-HTP is not appropriate, and it does not have weight loss abilities. We would not recommend using 5-HTP. It is a waste of time and money, and there are far better options out there.

We would definitely recommend that you check into something else with better credentials in general, and obviously enough, there are far better options for every value in general.

We are not against any product that uses it. We just don’t see it as an ingredient that should be featured as a main ingredient in general.
